Feria de Julio – Enjoy Valencia’s July festivities like a local

If you’ve ever stepped in Valencia during the summer time you’ll know that the sun isn’t the only thing that brings the heat to us Valencia locals, but also fireworks, festivals and great food.  Let’s be honest, Spain is the place to be during the summer and Valencia is famous for its beaches, paella, and iconic buildings – you may have already seen La Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias in shows such as Andor, Westworld and Doctor Who!

The city comes even more alive in July with one of its most iconic celebrations: La Feria de Julio (The July Fair). Whether you’re studying Spanish or just starting your adventure in Spain, this month-long festival offers an amazing blend of culture, language, and excitement you really won’t want to miss.

What Is the Feria de Julio?

First things first, let’s start with the basics. Fallas isn’t the only exciting thing Valencia has to offer, there are so many interesting things happening all the time, and the Feria de Julio has been a thing since long, long ago.

It’s been bringing something unique to Valencia since 1871, when the city created it to keep people from leaving during the hot summer months. Instead of escaping the heat, locals and tourists now celebrate it with a full calendar of events — from concerts and fireworks to street performances and traditional celebrations.

What started as a small cultural fair has grown into a citywide celebration, with events happening in parks, plazas, the famous City of Arts and Sciences, and even the beach. It’s one of the best ways to experience Valencia’s summer like a local, and it’s completely free and open to everyone.

Must-See Events Of The Feria de Julio in Valencia

Yes, half of July has come and gone, but that doesn’t mean that the fun has ended. Let’s take a quick look at some activities, events and great stuff that you won’t wanna miss. And if you wanna see what else is going on, check out this article from Visit Valencia.
