When we think of Christmas Markets in Valencia, does it feel like Christmas? I myself think of Berlin, Montreux, Paris,… I think of colder cities, where it snows and there’s a larger tradition of “Christmas”. In Spain we usually have “Los Reyes Magos” (The Three Kings), which is the main gift giving winter holiday in Spain, but as we become more international, Christmas has become more popular.
For the 2025-2026 season, several Christmas markets in Valencia are already confirmed, each with its own personality. You will find tons of food options, craftsmanship , great gift ideas…. but in Spain we are more of drinking hot chocolate and eating churros than drinking “mulled wine”, although you can find that here too!
So! Let’s give a quick look at some Christmas Markets in Valencia you should definitely visit if you are here this December and January!
Our top pick for Christmas Markets in Valencia

Feria de Artesanía de Navidad – Plaza de la Reina
🗓️When? 28 November 2025 – 6 January 2026
📍Where? Plaza de la Reina
This market is probably the most iconic Christmas market in Valencia, right in the city centre, the Plaza de la Reina. Artisans gather by the Cathedral to showcase and sell ceramics, leather, wood, textiles, natural products, and traditional Christmas decorations.
Every item sold is handmade, which gives this Christmas Market in Valencia a truly authentic feel. Walking around among the stalls feels like stepping into a gallery of local and regional arts and crafts. It runs throughout the festive season, though hours are shortened on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve, and it’s usually the first stop for thoughtful gifts or souvenirs that reflect the region’s heritage. So, skip the magnet this year and look for something that you won’t be able to find anywhere else.
Christmas Market at Plaza del Ayuntamiento
🗓️When? 28 November 2025 – 6 January 2026
📍Where? Plaza del Ayuntamiento
Where you’d usually find the “mascleta” during fallas, you’ll find an Ice Rink, a Carrusel and a fireworks show (every Saturday). This site becomes one of the busiest festive spots in the city.
Instead of a traditional market, the square offers two major attractions: a 30-minute ice rink session (€10) and a vintage carousel (€4).
The ice rink runs daily from 11:00 to 23:00, closing early at 20:00 on 24 and 31 December.
The carousel operates in two schedules: until 22 December it opens weekdays from 11:00 to 14:00 and 16:00 to 23:00 (weekends 11:00-23:00), and from 23 December to 6 January it runs daily from 11:00 to 23:00.
Every Saturday at 18:30, the square also hosts a pyromusical fireworks show, adding an extra festive touch to the season.
Mercadillo de Navidad del Centro – Hospital & Avenida del Oeste
🗓️When? To be announced
📍Where? Between Calle Hospital and Avenida del Oeste
A short walk from the Mercado Central lies another beloved Christmas market, tucked between Calle Hospital and Avenida del Oeste. While the exact dates for 2025-2026 haven’t been published yet, it traditionally opens in early December and runs until early January.
You’ll find variety in this christmas market in valencia. Stalls overflow with toys, decorations, winter accessories, sweets, and everyday gifts, however, you’ll also be able to find more traditional and artisanal products. The atmosphere is informal and busy, with tons of locals and tourist alike swarming through the stands as they wrap up their shopping.
On the nights of December 24 and January 5, the market often stays open very late, as locals like to visit it after having dinner with friends and family.
Mercado de Navidad – Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias
🗓️When? To be announced (usually mid-December to early January)
📍Where? Outside the Museo de las Ciencias
One of the most striking Christmas markets in Valencia, this one is tucked under the City of Arts and Sciences arches, next to the Museo de las Ciencias. Families gather for an afternoon of activities, food, and seasonal entertainment. You’ll find craft stalls, live performances, storytelling sessions, children’s workshops, and a wide array of food trucks (including a mulled wine stall!).
When the sun sets and the lights shimmer on the water, the scene feels almost cinematic, therefore, it’s ideal for visitors who want more to do beyond shopping.
Valencia Christmas Market – La Plazeta / Primado Reig
🗓️When? To be announced
📍Where? Exterior area of La Plazeta, Avenida Primado Reig
Along Avenida Primado Reig, this market blends a market atmosphere with a winter fair, making it feel distinct from Valencia’s other Christmas markets. It’s located in La Plazeta, a school that also doubles as a theatre.
You can expect an ice skating rink, circus performances, children’s attractions, artisan stalls, and a variety of street food stands. Even without a confirmed 2025-2026 schedule yet, this event has become a staple of the city’s festive season, so we are very sure this year will be there and packed. We will update information as it get’s released.
Mercado de Reyes del Cabanyal
🗓️When? 3-6 January 2026 (expected)
📍Where? Around the Mercado del Cabanyal
This market has a special place because it’s linked to the arrival of the Three Kings, el Día de Reyes on January 6th (the real Spanish Christmas).
Unlike most markets that pop up in December, this one comes alive only during the first week of January, focusing on last-minute gifts before the Three Kings’ parade on the night of January 5.
It stretches through the streets surrounding the Mercado del Cabanyal and draws thousands of families hunting for toys, sweets, clothing, accessories, and festive snacks.
Mercado de Navidad de Tapinería
🗓️When? To be announced
📍Where? Plaza de la Tapinería, Valencia city centre
While it still hasn’t been confirmed, we hope that this year doesn’t differ from past editions. In the heart of the historic centre, La Tapinería hosts one of Valencia’s most distinctive Christmas markets. Instead of a single, continuous event, this cultural space usually runs several themed markets throughout December. Each edition has its own vibe: some focus on design and illustration, others on vintage finds, local fashion, sustainable products, or independent creators.
The markets at La Tapinería attract visitors who want a fresh, alternative and indie take on Christmas shopping.
