This weekend, from the 9th to the 11th of May, the neighborhood of Patraix in Valencia will host the Patraix Urban Festival (FAP) for the 7th year, and is set to fill the streets art, music and fun for everyone! It is a local festival of Valencia which celebrates culture, creativity and community.

FAP is a grassroots urban arts festival organized by Factoria d’Arts de Patraix, a collective of local residents, artists, small businesses, and community associations. Since its beginning, the festival has aimed to bring the community together through public art, music, and workshops which get everyone involved.

Throughout the weekend, you can expect to find a wide variety of free events and activities. One of the highlights of FAP is undoubtedly the live mural painting, where both local and international artists will be transforming the facades of buildings into impressive public artworks right before your eyes. It’s street art at its most raw and authentic — spontaneous, large-scale, and community-rooted. Meanwhile, music lovers will find plenty to enjoy, with free concerts scattered throughout the barrio, showcasing everything from up-and-coming bands to experimental sounds and DJ sets that will get the neighborhood dancing.
