As the countdown to Christmas begins, Valencia is already buzzing with excitement. Over the next few days, the city will come alive with a perfect mix of holiday cheer, exciting events, and great shopping deals. Whether you’re looking for festive fun or a bit of retail therapy, there’s something for everyone as we ease into the holiday season.

In today´s blog, we’re highlighting some of the exciting events happening in Valencia over the next few days. From the Valencia Marathon on Sunday, which attracts runners from around the world, to the incredible Black Friday deals across the city, there’s plenty to look forward to. Plus, with Christmas events already starting to pop up, Valencia is beginning to sparkle with festive cheer.

Valencia´s Marathon

One of the most anticipated events this weekend is the Valencia Marathon. This Sunday, November 26th, the city will welcome thousands of runners from around the globe, competing in one of the fastest marathon courses in the world. Whether you’re an avid runner or just a spectator, the atmosphere in the streets will be electric!

The marathon kicks off early in the morning, and runners will race through the heart of Valencia, passing some of the city’s most iconic landmarks, like the stunning City of Arts and Sciences, the historic Turia Gardens, and the Old Town. With a route designed for speed, this race often sees records broken, making it all the more exciting.

For those looking to get involved but not ready for the full marathon, there is also a 10K race that runs alongside the marathon. It’s a fantastic way to participate in the event and enjoy the energy of the city while working up a good sweat. If you’re not running, come out to cheer on the athletes, as the streets of Valencia come alive with supporters.

Black Friday Deals: Shop ‘Til You Drop!

Don´t be alarmed if you see an unusual amount of people walking around with shopping bags  this weekend as Black Friday finally kicks off the holiday shopping frenzy this weekend! This year, the city’s shopping districts will be buzzing with some of the best sales of the year. Whether you’re looking for high-end fashion, gadgets, or home goods, retailers are offering deep discounts across the city.

Some of our most important suggestions include the streets of Ruzafa and Colón, and of course, El Corte Inglés. Don’t forget about the small boutiques, too – many local shops join in on the action, offering unique gifts and stylish finds at unbeatable prices.

You can also find some great deals online but if you’re in the mood for some in-person shopping, head to the malls and city streets to experience the excitement of Black Friday in Valencia.

A Magical Start to the Festive Season

Though it might still be a few weeks before Christmas officially arrives, Valencia has already started to bring in the holiday cheer! Over the next few days, the city will be decked out in stunning Christmas lights and decorations and as the days get shorter and the nights cooler, walking through the illuminated streets of the city will truly put you in the Christmas spirit.

In addition to the festive atmosphere, Valencia is hosting several cultural events over the next few days, perfect for those who appreciate fine arts. The Palau de la Música will have performances from local and international orchestras, with concerts ranging from classical to modern. On Saturday, November 25, the Valencia Orchestra will perform a special program, adding another layer of elegance to the weekend.

You’ll also find Christmas markets popping up, where you can shop for seasonal goods, artisanal products, and tasty treats like turrón (a traditional Spanish nougat) and churros. We won´t go into too much detail here – there will be a lot of Christmas content on the way!
