Upcoming music & dance events in Valencia

We can all agree that the Summer months always succeed in bringing people together. Both the warm breeze and the long peaceful nights is the perfect environment for singing, dancing and celebrating with family and friends and a big part of these celebrations always includes music and dance.

Valencia’s music scene has always been big and there are always annual music events, concerts and festivals for everyone to enjoy. Our blog this week shares with you the best music and dance events in Valencia and outside of the city.  Below we’ll tell you our top 3 and fill you in on how to enjoy them to the fullest!

Valencia Jazz festival

Valencia’s Jazz festival will open in the Jardines del Palau and continue in the Sala Rodrigo, the Sala Iturbi, and various other neighborhoods. The best thing about the festival is that they offer free concerts and viewings, with 8 free concerts being available this year.

From the 20th to the 28th of June, a fusion of Jazz bands will come together and fill the streets and neighbourhoods with authentic and traditional jazz music. Some performances include the  bassist, Martina Sabariego in Plaza de Campanar (July 20th), followed by trombonist Paco Soler in Plaza del Santísimo Cristo de Natzaret (July 21st), pianist Eduard Marquina in Parc Central (July 27th), and the voice of Julia Sapiña in Parc de Benicalap (July 28th).

Alboraia will also celebrate the Alborajazz festival from June 14th to 16th with four free concerts in its three urban centers. There will be duets, trios and swing band concerts during the whole weekend and the festival will close on June 16th in Plaza de la Constitución in Alboraya.

Patraix’s Tango and Milango event

If you’re looking for something more passionate and elegant then Patraix (one of Valencia’s well known neighbourhoods) has something for you. Valencia will once again vibrate to the rhythm of tango this Friday, June 14th, as this neighborhood transforms into the stage for a spectacular tango and milonga exhibition.

Organized by the Patraix Neighborhood Association, the event will begin at 8:00 PM at the association’s headquarters, with free admission for all visitors. This event promises to be a must-see for music and dance lovers, as well as an opportunity to delve into the passionate world of tango.

Two special guests have also been announced: Eduardo Duval and Ramiro Porto García will both present the event, ensuring for a memorable evening. Whats not to love!

Callejeando Food Festival

The Gardens of the Gerencia de Puerto de Sagunto will be the venue for the upcoming edition of Callejeando Food Fest, a family-friendly event taking place from the 21st June until the 30th June.

Although the title implies otherwise, this festival isn’t only limited to tasty, culinarly delights. The musical stage will be a central point of the festival, featuring performances by local bands and DJs to enliven the evenings.

A great thing about this festival is that it supports local and independent bands and groups. The lineup includes bands such as The Lorian, Replay, Manolos Plateados, Rots Remember Band, and Escuela de Calor (Tribute to Movida Madrileña). The festival incorporates great food, music and vibes – 3 things that we all want during the Summer.
