4 unique plans to enjoy in February!
There is no doubt that Valencia captivates the soul with its vibrant culture, rich history and beautiful weather. The truth is that there’s always something happening whether it be some type of event, carnival or celebration. As Fallas is just around the corner and occupies a big part of both February and March, we wanted to talk about other unique events and plans you can enjoy here in Valencia for this blog.
This blog will include our top recommendations of how to make the most of this month and give you the courage to step out of your comfort zone a bit! There is something for everyone in this beautiful city so keep on reading!
Candlelight concerts
This plan is a bit different but it is a must for music lovers and for people who enjoy live orchestras. There are a total of 6 concerts for the month of February and each one will feature music from the likes of ABBA, Coldplay, Hans Zimmer and Vivaldi. There is even a Valentine’s Day special for the ones who are looking for a bit more romance. If you’re looking to enjoy with your partner or even your friends then this is the perfect way to do it, and its definitely different to that of a trip to the cinema.
Vintage markets
Another great way to pass the time is to look out for Valenica’s vintage and pop up markets. Not only is it a great way to look after the environment and practice sustainable fashion, but its also a great way to save some money and find great bargains! The best thing about these markets is that most of the items range from €1-€5 euros and they normally happen on the weekends.
These markets aren’t limited to clothes, there are also toys, gifts and second-hand vintage items. Most of the time it is free to attend and its a great way to support independent business owners! The most popular places for these markets are in Ruzafa, Cabanyal (close to the beach) and sometimes Gran Via.
Beach clean ups
The last thing you’re probably thinking about when you’re planning your weekend is to participate in a beach clean up but you can’t deny that its a unique and thoughtful activity to get involved in. The best thing about this plan is that you can help the environment and really do something good for the community. You can find the next beach clean up on Patacona beach on the 18th of February at 11:30am. To put your name down you can simply send an email to this address: xalo@xalocmar.org
Requena’s food & wine fair
If you’re a lover of both food and wine then this is definitely not one to be missed. Although this fair isn’t located in the center of Valencia, it’s a great way to take the opportunity to explore the Valencian community a bit more. Requena will celebrate its cold meats fair from the 9th – 11th of February 2024.
There will be artisanal and quality products such as chorizos, salchichones and morcillas as well as cheeses, olive oil and wines from the area. You will also have the chance to explore Requena and its picturesque landscapes, vibrant cultural heritage and its rich history.
